While patent leather was originally used on the Air Jordan 11, Jordan Brand started using the material on Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe, the Air Jordan 1.

During Complex Con 2017, the Air Jordan 1 “Gold Top 3” was released in limited quantities by Union Los Angeles. Building on the “Top 3” mashup concept, this release comes constructed in a full shiny patent leather build in Black, White, and Metallic Gold.

Not to be confused with the “Gold Top 3” colorway, the Air Jordan 1 “Gold Toe” made its debut in 2018 for the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities.
