While patent leather was originally used on the Air Jordan 11, Jordan Brand started using the material on Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe, the Air Jordan 1.

Originally released in 2013, the Air Jordan 1 “Black Gold” debuted in extremely limited quantities modeled after a rare original sample of the Air Jordan 1.

Released in 2021, the Air Jordan 1 “Patent Bred” gives the iconic “Bred” colorway a glossy makeover. It features a full patent leather build with its signature Black and Red upper atop a White midsole and Red rubber outsole.
