Jordan Brand has pulled inspiration from the Air Jordan 11 plenty of times, but the Air Jordan 5 “Concord” kept the connection fairly simple. Instead of trying to recreate the famous AJ11 colorway, the 2022 release took its signature purple and dropped it into a familiar Air Jordan 5 setup.

The colorway followed the familiar “Fire Red” 5 setup, pairing a white leather upper with a reflective silver tongue and black accents across the eyelets and midsole. Concord purple replaced the usual red hits, appearing on the Jumpman logos, inner lining, lace lock, and shark tooth detailing.

That swap was really the whole idea behind the shoe. Jordan Brand did not overload it with extra references or try to make the Air Jordan 5 resemble an Air Jordan 11. It stayed true to the shape and color blocking people already knew, with the purple accents doing enough to separate it from the older releases. A translucent herringbone outsole completed the pair, along with visible Air cushioning in the heel.

The Air Jordan 5 “Concord” was released in August 2022, with a retail price of $200. Most stores have long since sold out, but pairs can still be found through resale sites such as StockX.
